Father-in-law and son-in-law, who were in completely different businesses, built this building in 2007 because they were secretly passionate about tourism and accommodation. When we met Enzo told us that while they were demolishing, designing and rebuilding, they thought of it as a Garnì and that one day it would host people from all over the world, with whom they, in Milanese dialect, would somehow converse.
The “Garni” slowly took shape and was christened with the forward-looking name Expo Residence Rho. There it was, at 23 Pace Street in front of the Carrefour, a beautiful and imposing yellow building with gray stripes, with 17 apartments, mostly studios, plus a beautiful three-room apartment with a terrace.
Now it needed to be managed though and they had no experience, so, they started with traditional rentals while waiting to meet the right people. In 2015 by “chance” (which does not exist) they met us, who are not market leaders, we are not on the front pages of newspapers…and if for that not even of Google 😊, but we all come from the hotel industry, we love this job and we do it well.
Once we got here what did we add? The experience gained in hotels.
We knew that rest is a fundamental element for any traveller, so we removed the sofa beds and contacted one of the best Italian companies that produces and exports mattresses for hotels all over the world and we chose a product for which our customers still they compliment us.
The air conditioning, heating and parking were already there…so all that was missing were small measures, washing machines, kettles, microwaves and what every two-legged person can’t do without…WIFI…
So we left and threw ourselves into the fray of a lot of work during Expo 2015.
We welcomed, met, helped and accompanied guests from all over the world. The atmosphere was beautiful and the visitors were captivated and enchanted by the beauty of the exhibition, by our Milan and by our “entirely Italian” way of welcoming.
In short, we had to tell you a lot of things: that we have done everything possible to make the apartments welcoming, that the reception is open from 3pm to 9pm, but that we also have self check-in, that we are 3.5km from the fair of Rho, that in front of us there is the bus stop, but that we have our shuttle upon reservation and that, as you can find written on any accommodation facility website, we are in a strategic position 5 minutes walk from All. BUT NO!
What is important for us to say is that we pay particular attention to cleaning, that we will probably not welcome you in a jacket and tie, but in jeans and tennis shoes (except Silvia😊) because to please everyone you have to run and, moreover, if you have to moving a bed or repairing a boiler, the tie and heels are uncomfortable… (only Silvia can do it😉)
As for our position, I don’t know if it is strategic but it is certainly in via Pace 23 in Rho and here, or behind the scenes, you will find us: Sara always disheveled, Valentina who does 73 things at the same time (all well), Silvia who runs and cleans on the clean with leopard heels, Jacopo, unfortunately an Inter fan, but with an innate sympathy and Alessandro who in this madhouse tries to make ends meet😊.
